It by Stephen King

Okay the suspense is over.  The book that I am reading at work is It by Stephen King.  I read this some time before I got married and we are nearing our 26th anniversary.  Some books deserve a second read and this is one of them.  When I start reading the Doctor Who books, some of them will be read a second time.  I have to dig them out of the attic, but I have at least 50 of the Classic ones. It's hard to tell where I am with this book, since I have it on the Kindle and the page numbers are not listed.  I am at the point where the six main characters start making their friendships with each other. The one thing that struck me as being strange is when these friends went on their separate ways as adults, they-with the exception of Mike Hanlan-forgot their experiences with the terror that went dormant when they were kids and also forgot about their promise to each other to return to their childhood town if the terror returned.  How could anyone forget about the town they grew up

Progress of Dragons of Spring Dawning

Okay I am moving along fairly well with this book this (third) time around.  I am about to the part of where I stopped the second time.  Since, I like to have two books going at the same time, this is the book I read after I get home from work and like to read a chapter before I go to sleep.  Now yesterday, I could have read more chapters since I had a major battle with insomnia.  (Sometimes with working nights, I have a hard time falling asleep during the day.)  I should have just surrendered to that battle.  There are times where I might not get a chance to get a chapter in.  For example, I have a dinner to work at the American Legion next Thursday.  Then I have a couple of days of overtime.  But then on my days off, I can get several chapters in.  I usually try to read fifty pages on those days.  (Sighs:  at one time I used to read 300 pages a day.) There is another book that I read on my breaks at work.  However, I won't tell you what it is until my next post-which will proba

Star Wars, Doctor Who and Dragonlance

I just started reading Dragons of Spring Dawning (for the third time).  The first time I got halfway through the book and maybe about a quarter the second time.  There is nothing wrong with the book but I ran into some financial problems when I was reading it for the first time and got too stressed to continue reading.  Even after I got out of the difficulty a couple of weeks later, I lost interest in the book.  The second time, I just got side-tracked with another excellent series. So far with the book, I am about 100 pages in and am going strong.  I think taking a short break after reading books in a series helps.  I think that by binge reading, you lose interest. Now I have also taken an interest in the Star Wars books.  When I first saw Star Wars when it came out in 1977, I was enthralled.  Even today, I say it is one of the best-if not the best-movies I have ever seen. I own the three paperbacks of the three original movies which I have read years ago.  I was surprised when I

Spring of my Love Ginny Aiken

Spring of My Love by Ginny Aiken is the third book of the Silver Hills Trilogy. In this book Angel Rogers is a woman who is in her early 20s.  Her mother had died some years before from an illness-I think cancer.  Her father just recently passed away.  So she has to take care of and run her ranch on her own.  Since her ranch has mostly sheep, the other ranches hate her because they own cattle.  (This did get me interested and looked it up and during the time of this story-which takes place in 1894-cattle ranches despised sheep ranchers mainly because sheep tended to eat all the grass including the roots.)  They also despised her because she was a woman and did not have any right to run a ranch.  (A reason why this took me a while to get through this book is it got me pissed off.  With the current president in office-Trump-many woman are screaming that their rights are being taken away.  Too bad there was not a time machine to send these woman back to the 1800s where they would be sig

Virgin River 3 Whispering Rock by Robyn Carr

This took a while to get through.  The book itself was good but a lot of times while I was on break I played games instead of reading.  Shakes my head in disgust.  While there are no problems with games, they get frustrating when you get to higher levels.  When the levels get too hard-since I don't want to pay money to get powerups-then I stop playing.  This is a list of some of my games: Toy Blast Toon Blast Candy Crush Fishdom Homescapes Tropic Cats Yeah I guess it is good that these levels get almost impossible to beat.  That gives me a good reason to delete the apps from my phone and resume with my reading. Now back to the story. Mike Rodriguez in one of the main characters in Whispering Rock.  In the first two books he played a minor role.  He is a hunting and fishing buddy of Jack Sheridan-remember this is Mel's husband.  They both were in the Marine Corps together and Mike and several other buddies come to Virgin River a couple times a year to check on Jack

Its has been a while.

And guess what?  I am going to have to reread that last Dragonlance book.  I did read other books.  When I was halfway through again-go figure-a coworker lent me a couple of her books from a series.  I will write about it next weekend. Plus I am also planning to read every Star Wars book.  I think there are around 250 books.
