Shelter Mountain Robyn Carr (Virgin River Book 2)

I am reading two books at the same time.  Light of my heart is by book for my breaks while I am at work.  Shelter Mountain is my book for home.  After I get home from work, I like to read a chapter before going to bed. Since her books are from this site  www.manybooks4u.net/author/4024.html I have them downloaded on my phone.  Even though this site is mobile phone friendly, it is still hard on  my eyes and can only read a chapter or two at a time.  Okay, I know this site is most likely a piracy site and I  really should be either paying for my books or getting them from the library, I am trying to save money on books whenever I can.  With the exception of a few books, I only will read them once.  I spend money on books only if I can't find them free (I do go book shopping a lot at garage sales).  All the Virgin river books are not on this site, so I will have to buy some if I decide to continue with the series.  There are times, however, when I read something for free and

My Real Next Read

Light of My Heart by Ginny Aiken is my next read.  It is book one of the Silver Hills Trilogy.  Not really sure why I said Head in the Clouds-but that will be for a future read.  Well, what do you know?  It is another romance.  However, I really like this book since it not all cliche. It is set in the late 1800s.  Letty, the main female character who is around 23 years old, decided to be a doctor in Philadelphia.  However, in this backwards time period, she is unsuccessful in running a clinic since people look down at their noses at her since she is in a man's profession.  Even her mother criticized her saying that a woman at her age should be married and have children.  I am so thankful that times have changed.  My sister is a doctor.  I work in manufacturing-something that men only did at one time.  I served time in the military. Well, back to the story.  A pregnant woman goes into labor and the sister runs to get her because she has complications.  The woman's husband

My next read

My next read is called Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer.  It is part of a trilogy.  I got this first book as a free one through Kindle.  If I like it, I will buy the other books. Like I already said, I don't want to read a series back to back, especially with the amount of books in the Dragonlance series.  Years back I banged off Chronicles and Legends but then got bored with the series.  So I will read the first book in this series and then maybe another Virgin River one. I do sometimes have two books going on at the same time, one for my breaks at work and one for at home.  I do like to read a chapter or two before going to sleep.

Reflections on DOAT

I just finished Dragons of Autumn Twilight.  It took me less than a month to read it.  Back in the day, this would have taken me a couple of days.  But now I might read only on my breaks at work and that is what I did with this book.  I sometimes want to strangle people.  I sit down to read my book while eating my lunch or snacks.  People should realize that I want to do my own thing on my breaks and not have to listen to the gossip.  Get the hint!  If I am not responding, I am reading my book!  Go sit somewhere else! Okay, now that I got that off my chest, I want to discuss another hidden Christian message, if tha is what the authors intended.  This story takes place 300 years after a catyclism, some event that destroyed the world and allowed evil to take over.  In the Bible, humanity is going to go through seven years of tribulation.  Midway through this time period, the anti-christ gets killed.  However, he comes to life being indwelled by the devil.  The second half of this tribu

Dragons of Autumn Twilight

I started that last Sunday and am over 40% done.  I forgot how easy of a read this book is.  This one is approximately 450 pages.  I am reliving the characters I remembered from when I read the Chronicles years ago.  Yes, Tasselhoff Burrfoot is still my favorite character. I am starting to see some Christian undertones in this book.  For example, the mountain that fell out of the sky and caused the Cataclysm-could this possibly be Wormwood during the time of the Tribulation? I have already been been introduced to the Black Dragon and I remember a red one towards the end of the book.  Could these be symbolic of the four horsemen of the apocalypse? Whether these undertones are intentional or not, you would love the dragonlance world.

Virgin River Book 1

Well I finished Virgin River on Sunday.  It was good but it is basically like all other romance novels--woman in distress, meets her prince charming, prince charming saves her from peril. Okay a little synopsis (spoilers) Mel (the damsel) moves from Los Angeles to a small town of 600 people.  She is a nurse practitioner in maternity ward in LA and is in need of a major change and decides to become a midwife in V. R.  One of the reasons why she wants to leave the city is her husband was murdered a year before and she wants to leave everything of that past life behind. At first she has a hard time adjusting to country life.  But the people in the town are very friendly towards her.  This is one of the things I find unrealistic with this book.  Usually when a city person moves to a small town, the people are very standoffish and even look down their noses at the newcomers (believe me this has happened to me.)  And here in this book people have welcomed her with open arms.  Right.

Dragonlance Series

My next series I am going to work on is Dragonlance. Years ago I read the Dragonlance Chronicles (Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman) which has three books: Dragons of Autumn Twilight Dragons of Winter Night Dragons of Spring Dawning I also read The Legends which also have three books: Time of the Twins War of the Twins Test of the Twins I read them mostly back to back during leave time from the military.  I had started Dragonlance tales but never got through the first book.  I think it was because not having time with military training and such. So now I am going to get back into these since this is the type of fantasy I enjoy.  Now it has been years, I am going to start from the beginning.  I should be done with Virgin River (Book 1)  within the next few days and will start with Dragons of Autumn Twilight.  I have decided with the Virgin River series to read one book a month-that way I can concentrate on other books. When I read the Chronicles and Legends I knew there
